UAS7 participated this year for the sixth time at NAFSA, the annual convention of the Association of International Educators. Over 8,000 attendees (representatives from universities, organizations, and companies from all over the world) gathered from May 25 until May 30 in the San Diego Convention Center to exchange ideas and establish new partnerships. UAS7 was represented by seventeen colleagues from the seven member universities, as well as Prof. Dr. Bernd Reissert, chairman of UAS7 and president of University of Applied Science Berlin (HWR Berlin).
As in previous years, UAS7 organized a luncheon for its partners on the first day of the convention. This year, UAS7 invited its partners to the “Berkeley Ferry Boat”, a historic ship permanently located in the San Diego harbor. UAS7 welcomed 90 guests from its four U.S. partner universities, as well as from their many bilateral partners and their partners from Brazil. In his opening speech, Prof. Dr. Reissert stressed the importance of the UAS7 Liaison Offices in New York and in Sao Paulo, and explained that both offices serve as important bridges between the seven universities of applied sciences in Germany and their partner universities in Brazil and North America.

The luncheon offered a fantastic networking opportunity for all participants. More generally, the sixth NAFSA was a successful event for UAS7 and all UAS7 participants.
